What Concrete Contractors in High Point Pour for Manufactured Homes
Census numbers tell you what gets poured here. Of 2,418 housing units in High Point, 1,550 are mobile homes and 748 are single-family detached houses. The median home was built in 1986, and 88 percent of occupied homes are lived in by their owners. So the work that fits here is small and practical. Somebody wants the truck and the car off the sand and onto a carport pad. Somebody else needs a porch slab at the door, a floor for a storage shed, or a driveway from the home out to the road.
On paper, each of those is a different job. A shed floor is one of our concrete slabs and foundations; a pad under a metal carport kit belongs with our RV, boat and carport pads. We size the pad to the kit or the vehicle, not the other way round. Before you agree to anything, the written quote shows the thickness, the reinforcement and any county fee.
When a Carport Kit Turns a Patio Slab Into a Permit Job
Hernando County's Residential Building Permit Exemption List lets a non-structural, patio-style slab under 500 sq ft go in without a permit. Here's the catch: the word non-structural. The same list says any slab poured with the intent to carry future vertical construction needs a permit, and for carports and larger sheds it reads: existing slab, no permit; new slab with footings, permit required.
So the plain patio behind a High Point home can be exempt, while the pad poured this month for a carport going up next month isn't. Tell us what the slab is for, even if the carport is a year away. We'll price and permit it for the load it will carry.
The county's 2026 fee schedule lists flat residential fees of $125 for a carport, $180 for a porch, $180 for a slab and $140 for a driveway slab from the house to the right of way, with state surcharges and a technology fee added on top. A porch still needs a permit, even a small one. New applications go through the county's Tyler portal, in use since March 3, 2026. Our county permit guide covers the rest.
These are typical ranges from concrete contractors in High Point. The Hernando permit fee, when one applies, is listed as its own line in the written quote.
